About
Lead Vocals & Founder, Gone Country Born in Garland, Texas, Scott Jones discovered his love for music early, singing along to the radio and performing in his school choir. After high school, he traded microphones for bull ropes—competing in rodeos and earning a spot at the Texas High School State Finals in 1985. In the early ’90s, Scott returned to music, forming Six Gun, followed by the nationally touring rock band Double Cross. After several years on the road, he shifted back to his country roots, leading the Dallas-based cover bands Haywire and Swift Justice. In 2019, longtime collaborator David Simpson suggested creating an Alan Jackson tribute band. Scott agreed—and Gone Country was born. Today, he leads one of Texas’s top tribute acts, honoring Alan Jackson’s legacy and bringing traditional country music to audiences across the region.
