Richard Kim, also known in his circle as "Mister Diva", is no stranger to the karaoke community at large. Karaoke was always part of Richard's life. It wasn't always in the best of settings but he grew to love music because of it.

However, as with most adults, life got in the way and he prioritized his career and worked in the software industry for over a decade.

In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, he was laid off - but instead of doing nothing with his sudden newfound free time, he started streaming his ridiculous karaoke performances and found success on both Twitch and Reddit. From there he went on to American Idol and then World Famous Apollo Theater Amateur Night (also known as Showtime at the Apollo) where he took home several first place prizes night after night.

In 2024, he placed 4th place at the USKA Texas State Championships and subsequently went on to place in the top 16 in the USKA World Championships at the HyperX Arena in the Luxor Hotel at Las Vegas.

In 2025, he served as part of the Texas Premiere Performance Team (PPT) and performed at Las Vegas again and came in 7th in the first round, and 15th overall during one of the toughest years to date.
