About

I first felt the magic of music at just 4 years old, singing a Mother’s Day song in church with my mom. Though she’s passed on, I know she’s looking down proud every time I sing. Music has always been my way of bringing emotion and healing to hearts—including my own. After losing my husband of 30 years, I’ve been learning to piece myself back together, and music has been filling the cracks—healing me from the inside out.

I hope I make it far enough in this competition to sing Kelly Clarkson’s “Broken & Beautiful”—a song that reflects my journey of healing. My greatest wish is that through my voice, someone else might also find comfort and hope. I’m not here just to win—victory would be icing. For me, truly winning is simply living and sharing my gift.
